It’s no secret, weddings in the era of Covid are shifting and pivoting. With so many unknowns couples are still choosing love and we are blessed to work with several couples who are committed to keeping their original wedding date. So much anticipation is built up during the engagement and planning process and while some couples prefer to reschedule, other couples are re-envisioning their original wedding date. Enter Lauren and Raghav. She’s a nurse, he’s a doctor in the Navy and they met in the ER. We met back in January as they were planning a 350 person destination wedding in Santa Barbara. After many discussions and contingency plans the couple remained committed to keeping their specifically chosen auspicious wedding date. With that being said, EVERYTHING was re-worked. Our day began and the Hindu temple in Calabasas and let me just say I teared up during the ceremony. This was the first wedding here in months and the first gathering like this in months and everyone in the room felt the love and unique significance of the day. Every precaution was taken and followed to a T. Sanitizing stations outside the building, registration for contact tracing, limited guests, masks and chairs placed at least 6 feet apart to maintain social distancing. After the morning ceremony and morning photo session we took a break and got ready for the second part of the day in Malibu.
Even though the plans for the day shifted, Lauren pulled out all the stops and had THREE bridal looks! When Raghav proposed, Lauren came walking in to see him on the beach. Now, Lauren wanted to flip the script and have Raghav walk down to the beach to meet her while she waiting in a stunning red dress. The intimate vow exchange on the beach with their Pastor was everything Lauren wanted. A few moments together on the beach to themselves. There lives were coming full circle and they took some time to breathe together and take in the significance of the day.
After the beach the couple went back to the Malibu estate to get prepared for the Christian ceremony and celebration with family and friends. Lauren stunned in her last look of the day. With Raghav dressed in his Navy whites and the California sun shining through the palm trees, it was just beautiful. After the ceremony we captured the full bridal crew and man did they look good! Soon after everyone dined outdoors and the day wrapped up with bellies full and smiles around. I’m so grateful to have been a part of Lauren and Raghav’s wedding day and I hope you enjoy the memories!
